The 'Hiding among Civilians' myth

Hezbollah fighters - terrorists if you prefer - have a policy of avoiding civilians. Not for any humanitarian reason, just because hiding among them is a guaranteed way of getting turned in by collaborators.

    I don't get it. How does avoiding civilians guarantee that you will be turned in by collaborators? I would have thought the reverse was the case.
