Big difference. Right wing dictator did not say Isreal should not exist. He did not harbor Islamic terrorists.
However it was because of the democratic government in Iran being overthrown by the CIA in the 50's and the Shah's brutal regime being installed that ultimately led to the blowback of Islamists seizing power in the 70's.
It's worth recognizing that the current Iranian government and the rise of Islamism in the Middle East have both been fostered by the west.
Islamists throughout the Muslim world were armed, supported, trained and flattered by both the US and Israel to oppose the Soviets, counter-weight Arab leftists and shut down more moderate opposition groups that might get international support. Hamas was virtually created by Likud. This stuff is well documented and easy to find.

I am always exasperated by the question, "Where are all the moderate Islamists?"
Where, indeed. Had the West not wiped out their parents, I'm sure there would be more of them.
Counterpunch.org is a good source of news outside the MSM narrative on this subject.
